Chinese, Finnish FMs exchange congratulations on 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties

BEIJING, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Tuesday exchanged congratulatory messages with Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 75 years ago, China-Finland relations have maintained steady development, yielding fruitful cooperation outcomes in various fields.

Wang expressed his readiness to work with Valtonen to implement the important cooperation consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen communication and coordination between the two foreign ministries, and jointly make greater contributions to the development of China-Finland relations.

For her part, Valtonen said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Finland and China have jointly promoted the establishment of friendly and comprehensive bilateral relations.

Finland has long valued and cherished the cooperative relationship between the two countries, said Valtonen, adding that she looks forward to maintaining exchanges with Wang on bilateral, regional and global issues.
